Barefoot Basics

22/10/11 - We are pleased to announce that Barefoot Basics is now the part owner of Shilpa, a national hunt racehorse.  Shilpa has been sent to Simon Earle's yard (trainer of Saucy Night) and it is intended that she will race barefoot.  We are hugely excited with the arrival of Shilpa, she is a cracking horse with a great personality.  You can follow Shilpa's progress at www.epds-racing.co.uk.  There are a few shares still available both for purchase and lease.

21/10/11 - Apologies for the recent website problems caused by our hosting company, we are now fully back up and running and any outstanding orders will be sent out first class on Monday.

18/11/11 - Due to price decreases by our courier City Link, we are now able to reduce the cost of 4Kg plus courier postage from £8.95 to £7.95.  City Link now offer a same day collection service so urgent items can often be dispatched very quickly.

28/8/11 - Due to recent issues with shipments to Europe, particularly Spain we will now only ship Internationally via a tracked courier service such as DHL or Fedex, postage costs for Europe will be in the region of £20.00.

Easycare Gloves wide now in stock in the UK in limited sizes, we also now have a fit kit for the wides as well as the standard boots.  Sooo exciting!!

We only sell products that we use on our own horses or that people very close to us use on theirs. This means that we know our products inside out and are always happy to answer questions. Often you will see personal anecdotes about our use of herbs and in our product notes. Our herbs are primarily organic and are sourced from ethical companies and sustainable resources.

The herbs shown here are those that we keep in stock, please contact us if you would like a particular herb not shown as we can fulfil special orders.

Barefoot Basics lotions and potions are lovingly created using natural ingredients. Many of our products contain things like Aloe Vera, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and active Honey, all known for their anti-bacterial and anti fungal properties. Our products are based on Australian recipes, which have been used on horses for many years.

The honey and beeswax used in our recipes is unpasturised and 'active' this comes from a local producer, the diet of the bees is mainly lavender which adds to the properties of the honey.

Our essential oils are sourced from a company that does not trade in untested oils, 'wild' or oils from unsustainable sources, they also play a positive role in conservation. They do not test on animals and are listed in the Naturewatch 'Compassionate Shopping Guide' as vegetarian/vegan. We do not use any nut oils in our products.
